David CollinsSIDNEY, Ky. — A Pike County man has been arrested after police sought help from the public in solving the theft of an air compressor. Early Saturday morning, a Sidney resident reported the theft of the $3,000 air compressor the night before by a man who had been on his property two days in a row, taking the compressor the second day and causing property damage in the process. Pike man charged with stabbing ex-girlfriend’s father

Joshua JonesPIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Pikeville man is facing a felony theft charge, for allegedly stabbing his ex-girlfriend’s father during an altercation. It happened Sunday morning on Peach Orchard Drive, in Pikeville. The police report says that Joshua Jones, 32, had been fighting with his girlfriend on Saturday, and she went to stay with her father that night. New program aims to turn recovery into career pathway

FRANKFORT, Ky. — A statewide program in Kentucky aims to provide credentialing and pathways to a career in social work for people in substance use disorder recovery. Advocates say the Career Ladders in Mental and Behavioral Health or CLIMB-Health program is vital for the state to boost the mental health and social services workforce. Many Kentuckians qualify for dual-needs health coverage

Nearly 13 million people nationwide, including the around 2 million peoplein Kentucky enrolled in Medicare and Medicaid, may qualify for coverage under a Dual Special Needs Plan. Chloe Atwater, health justice attorney at the Kentucky Equal Justice Center, said nearly 40% of the state’s population is low-income. Two arrested after police find drugs scattered among children’s toys

LANGLEY, Ky. — A Floyd County pair was arrested when police went to conduct a welfare check on three children, only to find a variety of drugs mixed in with their toys. The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office was called to the Langley home of Kristina Blankenship, 28, to look in on the children, ages 2, 6 and 7. When a deputy arrived, he found a man standing on the second-floor porch who appeared to be smoking marijuana.
